Yes it's a hack PS job.
It appears that we’ve had a mention in a
German Blog discussion about Philosophical Zombies (the
translated site is here). For those who may be wondering, a
Philosophical Zombie is a “hypothetical being that is indistinguishable from a normal human being except that it lacks conscious experience, qualia, or sentience.” So, in essence, a soulless person who lacks consciousness, yet in all other ways appears and behaves as a human. It’s an idea that gets kicked around when discussing souls or dualism (is there a distinct consciousness that is separate from your physical form?).
We may have tangentially touched upon this topic some time ago, and should revisit this in detail soon. I think there may be a slight difference of opinion about how zombies work, and perhaps a distinction made between Philosophical Zombies as a class of Zombie, and the Post Vital variety. I believe the former must actually be still alive.
For now, anyway. Remember, inside every living person is a dead one waiting to get out.
